Daniel Schubert is a writer/director based in Vancouver, Canada and a member of The Directors Guild of Canada.

His latest work is The National Film Board of Canada documentary ​Martha, a funny and touching portrait of his grandmother, Holocaust survivor, Martha Katz. It was released by the NFB on Jan 27, 2021 – International Holocaust Remembrance Day. The film has received nationwide coverage on radio and in newspapers like The Globe and Mail, The Vancouver Sun, The Province and Winnipeg Free Press. As well, Daniel was interviewed about the film on television networks such as CBC, Global and CTV.

Since co-writing and directing his first short narrative film, ​Seed Money​, in 2011, he has gone on to write, produce and direct documentary series for broadcasters like National Geographic, CBC, UKTV, Smithsonian Channel and History Television.

Daniel attended The Capilano University School of Motion Picture Arts in Vancouver and The Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in Los Angeles, where he learned the art of comedy writing and improvisation.
